Welcome!

Welcome to Stethoscopes and Tiaras!

I am a Biology and Chemistry student on the Pre-Medicine Track with a princess complex. I am 21 and married the love of my life at 19. My husband is in the Air Force and we are currently at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. We have no kids yet but one very busy Australian Shepherd named Scout. I started this blog because I have random thoughts that are not necessarily meant to be shared on Facebook.

I suppose it is just time to dig into the real stuff:

This past year has been crazy, growing up is hard to do! There is the constant balancing act of budgets, work, school and health but with a little love ( okay a lot!) and a dash of fairy dust ( pink of course) we made it through. A loving family and fantastic friends are the key to getting through everything.

When we first found out we were moving to Minot Air Force Base I was excited because we had been awaiting orders but I was devastated that we were not heading somewhere warm or exotic or European - was a little adventure too much to ask for? But I quickly learned that outlook is everything, we were moving closer to family, we would be there long enough for me to finish my undergraduate degree and the houses were pretty cute. I had also made friends over Facebook (more about that later) and Minot was going to be an okay place. Then we arrived. I had a school orientation before we even had a house, I found a job before we were fully settled and I just started to become very overwhelmed, migraines 3-5 times a week along with nausea. Luckily I had amazing coworkers and supervisors that knew my limits before I was ready to admit them and gave me time to gather myself and I pulled off the semester with a 3.8. I also found out who my real friends were, the ones that new I needed to prioritize and that a dinner party came second to homework and my work schedule. But with these stressors came blessings, a new found love of yoga, a church I loved ( I really need to get back there) and over all gratitude and excitement for the life I had been dealt. And that my friends is the key to surviving Minot and life - Be happy and thankful even when you feel like you have hit bottom there is always someone to give you a hand up.

What are you thankful for?
